Teaching Philosophy Statement
Listen and be open to get to know our ākonga, what they want to achieve and what their interests are. Design lessons around their needs.
To be open to try new teaching styles to engage and connect the material to all ākonga.
Teaching life skills, not just content. Encourage lifelong learning by leading as an example of consistently learning with the ākonga.
Keep my passion and enthusiasm in science and teaching alive. Make science relatable to ākonga life experiences and encourage open discussions.
Continually learning about and honouring the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, rather than tokenising the principles.
